Bob Hyman, Grace, Nilsson, and Mary Robbins gave a presentation on "How to Start a Kit Wine"Bob emptied the wine juice into a primary fermenting pale and added bottled water to bring the volume up to 6 gallons.

Bob took a pH reading with a handheld pH meter. Then he collected a sample of the juice with a "wine thief" and put it in a cylinder for easy measuring of the specific gravity, brix, and potential ending alcohol percentage.

Bob took a pH reading with a handheld pH meter. Then he collected a sample of the juice with a "wine thief". Bob inserted a hydrometer into the cylinder of juice to determine the starting Specific gravity, brix, and potential ending alcohol content.A mixture of hot water and Bentonite was added to help in clarifying the wine, followed by addition of yeast.

Mary and Grace shared their experiences with wine making kits. They are a great way to produce good quality wine in a 2 month period. Of course you can let it age for even better results.
